Boxercise combines boxing and exercise into an awesome fat burning, fitness enhancing activity to suit everyone who wants to enjoy boxing training without getting hit or the elitism of some so called purists.
It is one of the most effective forms of cross-training available today.
Boxercise is a great way to relieve stress and burn off some aggression.
Although there is no physical contact, you are enabled to feel in control of your body as the aggression release is channelled and focussed.
Above all, Boxercise is always fun, energetic and highly addictive!
Assuming you’ve never done Boxercise before, there is a little bit to learn.
There are 8 basic punches to learn, however it's pretty brain numbing trying to learn the whole lot in 1 hour.
Therefore, at your first class you’ll learn how to throw two punches - the Jab and the Cross.
In Boxing these are the shots aimed directly at the face of your opponent, although you’ll obviously throw punches at your partner's Focus Pads.
Don’t worry about how hard you punch initially. It is more important to learn safe and correct technique - the power comes naturally as your technique develops.
You'll learn how to hold the Focus Pads correctly too. This will enable you to safely absorb even the hardest of punches without being injured.
I’ll personally coach you through all of this, and I’ll ensure that you are working safely as well as effectively.
The fitness element will also be included too and you’ll have a number of bodyweight exercises to do alongside the Boxing elements. Don’t let this put you off - do everything at your own pace, and if you need a rest, just take one.
